24' PLAYOFF Results

Having entered three teams in the tournament – one at Gold, one at Silver A and one at Bronze – all three Jacks teams finished pool play with spotless 3-0 records with incredibly impressive goal differentials of 19-2 (+17) for Gold, 18-5 (+13) for  Silver and 18-6 (+12) for Bronze.  Two of those three teams – Silver and Bronze -- wound up winning their respective championships to post a highly impressive overall tournament record of 11-1 for the entire club.  The Jacks were also clearly the “darlings” of the tournament as well, thanks to their camper village which attracted tournament visitors and curious competitors all weekend long.

After dominating SNVC, 5-1 in the final round of pool play on Saturday night, SNVC turned the tables on the Gold Jacks, taking the title game, 6-2.  That would be the Jacks’ only blemish as the Silver team topped the Baltimore Silver Clippers 3-0 in that division while the Bronze team narrowly outlasted the very surprising Still Frozen Old Puckers, 3-1 (last goal was an empty netter) to capture that title.   My Bucs team rebounded from a tightly-contested 6-5 Friday night defeat to the Discount Maroons to capture the Silver B division title against that same opponent on Sunday morning, 4-0.

Two lower division teams posted wins over their upper division opponents.  Englewood Silver defeated Clippers Gold, 6-3 while Englewood Bronze downed the Bucs 8-4.
